The Pakistan Blood and Marrow Transplant Group, hereafter referred to as PBMT is established on 14 February 2020 to allow health professionals and scientists in Pakistan involved in clinical blood and marrow transplantation and related cellular therapies to collaborate and participate in promoting high quality blood and marrow transplantation in the country.

  • The group aims to promote all aspects associated with the hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT) and related therapies in Pakistan, which includes:
  • To ascertain and provide the updated status of hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT) in the country.
  • To control and regulate the Pakistan Bone Marrow Transplant (PBMT) in the country.
  • To promote and share current knowledge of all aspects of HSCT to establish, maintain and promote the highest standards of care.
  • To work towards providing guidelines, set of standards and accreditation of transplant units.
  • To provide training opportunities in the field of HSCT in the country.
  • To promote collaborative research in the field of HSCT in Pakistan.
  • To provide a forum to discuss issues related to HSCT, formulate and represent consensus viewpoint at national and international forums.
  • To collaborate with other international organizations related with HSCT and work as a core member representing Pakistan.
